Low rise maternity wear
Having spent many years in the fashion industry, I often wondered why women feel pressured into buying designer maternity jeanswear. Designer clothes by nature are expensive and it would be impractical for a pregnant women to buy jeans that fit every time her body changes in size over the 9 month period. Surely, the answer must be to go for the low rise, or ultra-low rise jeans available today. You can't hide your tummy, so why not be proud of it. Yes, your belly will ride over the top of your low rise jeans, but you can still cover up with a nice loose fitting top. Choosing the right pair for you will of course be a task in itself, but there are plenty of choices out there. The obvious option is to go for some super stretchy denim jeans or try "jeans" made from other fabrics such as moleton. These are not so easy to source in the UK (sites such as wearmyjeans.com have a good selection of Brazilian jeans) but would be well worth the effort. So before you rush out and buy specific maternity jeans, why not consider what is already there and available and more importantly, much cheaper!
